CIPANP2015 Conference Proceedings
The Proceedings for CIPANP2015 will be published electronically through SLAC’s eCONF archive, which electronically indexes and permanently archives conference proceedings. eCONF papers are linked through the SPIRES Conference and HEP data bases. The eCONF home page http://www.slac.stanford.edu/econf/index.html provides further details.
eCONF offers two options for conference proceedings: CIPANP will use the ePrint Proceedings option.
Instructions for Conferees:
CIPANP2015 speakers, both plenary and parallel, as well as poster presenters are welcome to publish in the CIPANP2015 Proceedings. All papers must be submitted to the eprint arXiv (http://arXiv.org). For first time users, general submission help can be found at the eprint arXiv site. The web upload is particularly easy to use, from a PC, Mac or on Unix. You will receive confirmation email upon every step of the process: if you do not, it means you still have more to do. The ultimate goal is to see the full text of your paper on the arXiv.org server with an eprint number in the form “arch-ive/yymmnnn”.
Deadline for submission of papers
We ask all speakers to submit their papers by October 1, 2015.
Important Considerations when Posting eConf Papers to the eprint arXiv
Document Format and Length
We recommend that authors use the LaTeX templates available on the eCONF web site (http://www.slac.stanford.edu/econf/editors/eprint-template/instructions.html) in order to give the proceeding a uniform appearance. The relevant files are eprint.tex, eprint.ps, eprint.pdf, and econfmacros.tex.
If you find the LaTeX template inconvenient, any format acceptable to the arXiv can be used. The eprint arXiv accepts a wide variety of formats, including PDF, which is handy for people using Word. Note, though, that it will reject PS or PDF files created using TeX/LaTeX, as it requires the source files in this case.
There are no restrictions on the length of your paper (other than those imposed by the file size limitations described below), though we recommend that parallel session and poster papers not exceed 8 pages and plenary session papers not exceed 12.
File Size
The eprint arXiv will reject files over 650k. This problem generally occurs if the paper contains many large figures. Usually large figures are the result of converting jpegs or scanned images to PS files. To avoid this problem, submit smaller graphics, with lower resolution. There is help on how to do this at the eprint arXiv Web site. It is common for arXiv contributors to provide links to better quality pictures in the arXiv “comment” line (see Example below).
Excessively large figure files make it more difficult to process a proceedings volume as it creates a bottleneck for Web transmission, so it is worth some effort to make your figures smaller.
Title/Abstract Preparation
When filling out the required information form it is important to mention the conference data in the comments field. Please follow as closely as possible the format given below. CIPANP2015 (no space) should be mentioned in the comment field. Most important, the Report Number must be given exactly as below. Here Smith is the name of the person who presented the talk at CIPANP. In the example the first author of the paper is a collaborator, not a speaker. That does not change the fact that the CIPANP2015 report number must give the name of the speaker.
Other report numbers can be added.
